We partner exclusively with small holder farmers who collect beans from free-roaming wild civets in their natural habitat. No animals are caged or forced to consume coffee cherries. Our civets live freely in the forest, naturally selecting only the ripest, highest-quality coffee cherries as part of their normal diet. This ethical approach ensures both superior coffee quality and animal welfare.

This exceptional wild Kopi Luwak comes from the volcanic slopes of Mount Gedong Songo and Mount Ungaran in Central Java, where coffee has been cultivated since Dutch colonial times. Farmer Solikun and local partners collect beans that have been naturally selected and processed by wild civet cats roaming the highland plantations.

Unlike captive civet operations, these wild civets choose only the ripest, highest-quality coffee cherries. The natural fermentation process in the civet's digestive system, aided by specialized enzymes, creates a uniquely smooth and complex coffee with reduced bitterness and enhanced body.

The collected beans undergo careful washing to remove any residual material, sun-drying to optimal moisture levels, and hulling to produce pristine green beans ready for roasting. This traditional process preserves the distinctive characteristics that have made wild Kopi Luwak one of the world's most sought-after coffees.
