A beautiful expression of Balinese terroir from the highlands of Kintamani. This wet-hulled community lot from 377 smallholder farmers in the Karana cooperative showcases what happens when traditional farming meets intentional processing. Nestled between the Batukaru and Agung volcanoes at 1,200 meters, these S795 and Kartika varieties develop a rich, full-bodied cup with remarkable depth.
The wet-hulled method—known locally as giling basah—is uniquely Indonesian and gives this coffee its signature syrupy body and saturated flavor. After depulping, the beans are partially dried with mucilage still attached, then hulled while moisture content is still high. This technique produces that characteristic richness and earthy warmth while preserving the bright citrus notes and mellow spice complexity that make Kintamani coffees so distinctive. The Karana community farms organically, guided by the Hindu philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, creating coffee that's as thoughtfully grown as it is delicious.
